My new running shoes arrived today via the UPS delivery guy, along with a book about running. They were part of my Christmas present from my parents. New shoes, like a new year, must be celebrated. Here they are:
They are Asics Gel-Equation. These are to replace my old running shoes (Asics Gel-Trabuco), which I bought in 2003, while living in California. Shown here new (March 22, 2003):
Here are the Gel-Trabucos today – perhaps you can see why they’re being replaced:
I will miss these shoes immensely. They are UTTERLY broken in. These new shoes have some big shoes to fill. Har, har, har.
I’m pretty excited to use them, once it stops being freezing cold and ugly outside.
I know you all know how much I HATE the cold season. So, I’m sure you can guess how excited I am that it’s getting cold, and it is now December. We are in St. George for a few days, running away from the cold. It’s not TOO much warmer here than home, but it’s enough.
Today, we rode our bikes. We rode a trail that was new to both of us…Church Rocks. Seems an appropriate name for a St. George area trail. To get there, we rode on the Coral Canyon (paved) bike path for a little way. I liked the path and the trail both a lot. The Coral Canyon path is the one you see along the freeway (Interstate 15) on the east side a few miles before getting to St. George. Here are a couple pics of me from today, and one of the two of us.
The first one features the ‘Church Rocks’ that the trail is named for in the background.
In other news…I failed to post in October this year. I don’t like to do that, but sometimes things get busy. 🙂
Thanks for reading, and commenting!
