My Serrano Tree

Don’t ever let it be said that my little serrano tree doesn’t pull its weight. This is its third year (it spends the winters indoors like a houseplant), and it certainly seems happy. Here’s the tree, and today’s harvest.

Thanks for stopping by and checking up on me…I know it’s been a while.  Again.

  • KATIE! I didn’t know you grow serranos! I LOVE them and often can’t find them in the local grocery store. Maybe I can get a start from your tree OR steal a pepper or two from you on occasion…? 🙂

    • Jen – I wish I had known that you needed some. I gave the whole harvest from yesterday to Antonio. 🙁 However, it’s got lots of flowers right now, and a few small chiles coming. You can have the next batch, for sure. Also, I’m looking into whether you can root a cutting…I’m happy to give you one of those, too.

  • Great harvest. How hot are they? not to familiar with Serranos but have heard the name.

  • That is a tough little tree, especially since I’ve been in charge of watering it from time-to-time. Did I see heat waves rising from those lovely peppers?

  • Quite a litter. Deadly! Pass the ice and Tums.

  • You are quite the plant grower young lady. You must have learned from your mom and dad. Love your pics. Nancy

  • Great looking harvest. You certainly enjoy hot foods. I like the taste, but my innards don’t like it very much after I swallow.
