Halloween, and an Award!

I realize it’s been a while since I last posted (okay, it’s been over a month).  I was busy, and then I was sick.  I think that about sums it up.

The Chile Pepper Bike Shop Ho-Down costume party was great this year.  That’s Moab’s version of an adult Halloween party.  There were lots of great costumes, a live band, and other fun stuff.

This year, I am proud to say, I won the costume contest.  My costume was quite a bit of work and engineering.  Rich helped me a lot, almost entirely without complaint.  🙂  I was complete with little paper fortunes.  I am glad we spent the time to make it.  Here we are at the party (the place is empty because we went very early).  Click it to see it bigger!

My prize for the costume contest was a brand-spankin’ new grape-itty purple women’s Electra beach cruiser bike.  I love it.  It’s beautiful, shiny, and mmmmm.  NEW!

Thanks, Tracy & Ryon and everyone at Chile Pepper!

  • Wow! I love your bike prize. That’s one awesome cruiser. Joel and I decided that we won our costume contest. I:

  • That’s fantastic! Congratulations! I love the bike. Having a pretty bike makes commuting so much more fun. I love your costume, too. You look good with black hair.

  • You are One… Awesome looking swammy, there Katie. Go ahead and shoot me one of your good fortunes, will ya? Sir Lancelot is looking pretty knightly too. You deserved to win and that bike looks like a great prize….but of course with your fortune telling skills, you knew it was yours before you went in…right?

  • And it’s PURPLE! Aaah. Great prize. Congratulations.

  • Yours was certainly a most original costume. I’m glad you won with it and know you’ll enjoy the super prize. Congratulations!

  • Thanks, everyone! I can’t wait for spring, to use my new bike! It’s been a tad nippy around these parts to ride it right now.

Janet – I think you and Joel won your costume contest, too. They were great!

Caryn – Thanks! I actually kind of liked the black hair, too. There’s just something about something different…

Uncle Doug – Of COURSE I knew I’d win the bike, but it’s still a nice treat just the same. 🙂

Lorraine – I love the purple-ness, too. I now own 3 purple bikes. Who would have known?!

Sonja (AKA ‘mom’) – Thank you. This is a bike I think you’d like to ride.

  • glad u won

  • Coolest costume ever! Rich’s isn’t bad, either 🙂 Also, I really like the “made with black magic” notation on your banner at the top. Ha, ha!

Have a super great autumn. I dream of Moab…

  • Congratulations! What a great prize. I would certainly love it also. That was a very creative costum. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun.

  • Great costume, it’s great that it actually worked, too. A purple bike is exactly what Annecy wants for Christmas! I guess it’s time to start looking, or so my mail is trying to tell me.

  • Thanks for stopping by and commenting, everyone!

Kenzie – It is DEFINITELY drool-worthy!! I love it. Can’t wait until it’s warm again!

Barb – Thanks! I’m always glad when you stop by and read! 🙂

    Liz – It’s grape-a-licious. I love it!

Katie – SO, SO, SOOOO glad you stopped by! I sure wished you lived closer. Hope you and Ryan are doing great!

Aunt Marcy – Thanks! We did have fun, and I love my new bike! YEA!!

Catherine – EVERYONE needs a purple bike! I hope you find the perfect one for Annecy! Rich got me a beauty of a grape-purple Schwinn Stingray a few years ago, and I LOVE it! Annecy is big enough for one of those, if you visit your local bike shop…it’s got a glittery banana seat and everything!

  • What an original costume, Katie. I think it is terrific! Rich has a nice costume also.
Congrats on the purply bike. It is a beauty!
